Why Norrlands nation?
Norrlands Nation offers members the chance to get involved in student life, make lifelong friends, and gain valuable skills and experience for their future careers. There’s something for everyone here, and you can, for example:

What is Norrlands nation?
Norrlands nation originally originated from student associations that targeted students from Norbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland and Västernorrland counties. It is also the landscapes included in these counties that make up the nation's coat of arms.
Today, there are students from all over Sweden (and the world) at the nation.
The nation still has a natural affinity with northern Sweden. Our partner Norrlandsförbundet works specifically for Norrland's economic, cultural and social development.
How do I become a member?
To become a member, you must be admitted to a program or course at Uppsala University, SLU Ultuna, or another higher education institution in Uppsala.
To become a member, you’ll need valid identification and an admission letter or registration certificate. The membership fee is 360 SEK per semester.
To become a member of Norrlands Nation, follow the steps below:
1) Register your membership and pay the semester fee!
You can do this at our reception (kansli) or online. At the beginning of the semester, the Contact Committee also organizes registration sessions.
Online, you can do this via the Curators’ Council’s membership page:

This is the easiest option, and you can pay directly via Swish or credit card on the page.
You can also become a member by paying at the nation’s office. Bring valid ID, your admission letter or registration certificate, and 360 SEK. At the office, you can only pay by card.
2) Authorize your membership
To do this, you must visit our reception (kansli).
After authorization, you’ll receive a temporary student union card. Then, keep an eye out for your digital nation membership card in the Mecentat app.
As soon as you have your temporary student union card, you can, for example, visit our pub, Orvars Krog, where valid ID and a student union card are required.
The Contact Committee
is here for you!
The Nation’s contact committee is responsible for welcoming all of you new students to the Nation. At the start of each semester, they host events to which you are warmly invited!
Be sure not to miss Reccegasken, which is held at the beginning of each semester. It’s a gathering for "reccar" —that is, new students! During the Reccegask, we’ll show you our large nation house, provide entertainment, and share more information about the nation and its opportunities.
Information about the events is posted on social media and here on the website. You can also get information during registration at the start of the semester.
